I'm sure that such a large catch made for a lot of work that needed to be done. They were tired. They'd been at it all night, and now, when they were exhausted and ready to quit there was a ton of work to do. The fish needed to be taken care of. They wouldn't sit forever. This was long before ice machines and freezers after all. But Jesus didn't let them jump right into what needed to be done. He didn't offer to help either or miraculously clean the fish. He said, "Brig some of the fish and let's eat breakfast."
Sometimes God blesses us with work to do. It is a blessing to have a great catch, but the work is still multiplied. It is tempting to feel the need to get right on it. It has to be done. But Jesus wants us to step back and have breakfast. Now, I'm not talking bacon and eggs here. I'm saying that no matter how much work there is to be done, we need to take a minute and spend some time on the beach in our spirit chilling and eating with our Savior. When we do this, we can rise refreshed better able to do what He has called us to do.
